PAUL ATKINS
"Paul Atkins (1971) was born in London. He trained as a painter at Chelsea School of Art from 1990-1993 and as a printmaker on the MA Printmaking course at Camberwell College of Arts from 1994-1996.
Much of his imagery is concerned with the human image, landscape, as well as the inner landscapes incorporating biological and botanical worlds. He makes various studies of plants, of landscapes and of living creatures within these habitats, both real and imagined.
Most of his interest and fascination with objects and things has originated from his childhood, viewing things in states of symbiosis, of metamorphosis between objects and beings. It is this particular reality that has often been the starting point for his practice over the years".
